  Ingredients

  • 12<\/span> Tbsp<\/span> Unsalted Butter<\/span> Cubed, Very Cold<\/span><\/li>
  • \u2153<\/span> C<\/span> Lard or Vegetable Shortening<\/span> Very Cold<\/span><\/li>
  • 3 <\/span> C<\/span> All- Purpose Flour<\/span><\/li>
  • 1<\/span> Tbsp<\/span> Sugar<\/span><\/li>
  • 1<\/span> Tsp<\/span> Salt<\/span><\/li>
  • \u00bc-\u00bd<\/span> C<\/span> Ice Water<\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/div><\/div>\n

    Instructions

    • Place the flour, sugar, and salt in the food processor fitted with the steel blade attachment. Pulse until combined.<\/span><\/div><\/li>
    • Add the butter and lard to the food processor and and pulse about 8-12 times until the butter and lard are about the size of peas.<\/span><\/div><\/li>
    • With the machine running, slowly pour the ice water down the feed tube and pulse the machine until the dough begins to form a ball. You may not need all of the ice water.<\/span><\/div><\/li>
    • Dump the mixture onto a lightly floured piece of plastic wrap and press into a ball. Wrap in plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for 30 mins. <\/span><\/div><\/li><\/ul><\/div><\/div>\n\n

      If you do not want to use lard, replace the lard with butter.<\/span>

      <\/div>\nThis recipe makes 2 pie shells roughly 9-11 inches round.<\/span>

      <\/div>\nThis is a great freezer recipe. Wrap in plastic wrap and place in a sealed zipper bag. Freeze up to 9 months.<\/span><\/div><\/div>\n\n
